Aging Life Care Professionals assist clients, and families in planning and coordinating care for older adults and others with physical and/or mental impairments to meet their short, or long term needs, improve their quality of life, and maintain their independence for as long as possible. Aging Life Care careers entail working with a diverse population, managing, rendering and referring to all types of financial, legal, health and social service providers. Aging Life care professionals accomplish this by combining a working knowledge of health and psychology, human development, family dynamics, public and private resources as well as funding sources, while advocating for their clients throughout the continuum of care. For example, they may assist families of older adults and others with chronic needs such as those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Aging Life Care professionals are an invaluable source of information and support to those in need.

We do this work because we aim to fill a void that no other professional is able to fill. We strive to make life a little easier for those on a path of managing eldercare. We are in the trenches with a goal of maximizing the quality of life for the elders and the family members we serve. It’s challenging, and emotional but in the end we feel good about the work we do to lessen the struggle for others.” Jennifer Pilz, P.T. Aging Life Care Professional
