Chapter Involvement: There are several committees in the chapter working to enhance what the Midwest Chapter has to offer its members. If you are a member and would like to get involved please contact one of the current committee chairs and join in.

Professional Development: The Chapter keeps you abreast about the latest methodology, research, legislation, information and practice techniques in Aging Life Care™ / geriatric care management, helping you better serve your clients.

Peer Case Conferencing Schedule: The Midwest chapter has regular Peer Case Conferencing calls for their members. Members can participate monthly in the Case Conferencing calls to continue to provide quality care to their clients. The schedule and instructions for these calls is in the Events tab.

Mentoring: The mentoring program matches new members with more seasoned members. The goal is to forge a relationship that will support new members in the startup of their practice. General questions about how to operate a business or client related questions are appropriate. This is a volunteer program, please understand that this is NOT to be used as a business coach. Marketing and Public Relations: Through the Chapter’s publicity efforts, you will learn about strategies to enhance your practice and promote the services you offer. National public relations activities seek to educate the public and media about the field of Aging Life Care/geriatric care management.

Ethics Committee: The Midwest Chapter has established an Ethics Committee with the goal of offering the membership a place to discuss/brainstorm any ethical or business practice dilemma which may be of concern to their practice.

This was developed in response to the updated ALCA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice published last year.

If you are in a quandary about an issue with your clients related to ethics or a business practice, and would like a peer consultation as to the “best practice”, e-mail the chair of the committee, Judy Mange, at [email protected]. The question will be discussed by the Ethics Committee with the person requesting consultation – or anonymously and recommendations will be sent to the member- whichever is the preference of the requesting member.

Newsletter: The chapter provides a regular newsletter on up to date events within the chapter and articles on topics to enhance skill levels. Previous editions can be seen here.
