My papaw got sick when I was 10 years old, and had home health nurses. I knew from that moment on I wanted to be a nurse. He passed away before I graduated nursing school, but I attribute my career to him and his unfortunate illness. I hope as I serve my clients daily that I honor him, and it is my passion to take care of them as would my very own grandparents.
Like many nurses fresh out of school I went to work in a small hospital. I was fortunate enough to work in all areas, med-surg, CCU and ER, gaining experience fast. After the hospital, I went to a nursing home and fell in love with geriatrics. I also have experience in community nursing, in home hospice, and home health. I began my Case Management career in 2011. I got my CCM in 2014.
After graduating from Loudon High School, I attended Hiwassee College where my grandmother was an employee for 47 years and all my aunts and uncles attended college. I graduated from there with an Associates Degree in Science, then went on to Lincoln Memorial University for my RN degree. While getting my RN, I also obtained an Associates at Hiwassee in Liberal Arts.
