About
I came to the Aging Life Care profession from a counseling background which has been useful for supporting families during these stressful times. Families often find themselves struggling with how best to assist their parents and not always agreeing on what should be done. Navigating the balance of honoring independence yet ensuring safety is never easy. We are here to help with that process.
Past Experience
My career started in community mental health where I have worked at the King County Crisis Clinic, Community Psychiatric Clinic, Valley Cities Counseling and the Wallingford Senior Center. These experiences led me to focusing my work on supporting older adults and their families. In 2003, I founded Aging Wisdom. I love this work and feel grateful to be an Aging Life Care Professional.
Education
I grew up in Mount Vernon, Washington where I graduated from Mount Vernon High School. I was then off to the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington where I graduated with a BA in Psychology. Eventually I earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle. I am a trained mediator, Certified Care Manager and active volunteer in the community.
