We are excited for you to join us for the Aging
Life Care Association Western Region Chapter Conference from September 23rd–
25th that The Hyatt Regency Lake Washington (Renton, WA). The conference will
focus on the growth and adaptation we’ve all had
to make in the last year and the innovations that will stay with us in our
future work.
We have received several requests to offer a virtual option to this year's conference. After much discussion and work, we are pleased to announce we will be conducting a hybrid conference (both in-person and virtual). Your choice!
This hybrid version, however, comes at a significant extra cost to the Western Region, including extra audio-visual and internet costs for live streaming from the event site. In addition, we will likely incur fees from the hotel for not meeting our contractual minimums. The hotel fees would be much, much more expensive if we were to opt for a fully virtual conference. A hybrid conference is completely different from the fully virtual conference held last year. That conference was much less expensive to host in the fully virtual realm and we were able to pass on those savings to attendees. We’re happy to be able to provide the virtual option but those participating virtually will need to share in those additional costs in order to make it happen.
For those of you choosing to attend virtually, we need to add $189 to the conference registration. If you were going to attend in-person, that would be equal to roughly one night stay in the hotel. Keep in mind that if you were attending in-person, you would likely be paying for three nights (plus tax), travel costs and parking.
We received great feedback following our virtual conference last year. This time around, we will live stream the pre-conference sessions (including Advanced Practice Retreat), the general sessions, the breakout sessions, the exhibit area, the reception, opportunity drawings and more. Our conferences are always well known for their positive energy, feelings of connectedness, and incredible learning opportunities (from both presenters and each other). We will do everything we can to make those participating virtually feel like you are there!
That being said, there is nothing like an in-person experience. We are doing everything we can to keep our attendees safe. We are requiring covid vaccinations and face masks for all in attendance. The hotel has plenty of room for us to spread out appropriately during sessions and at meal times. The hotel is in a BEAUTIFUL location. You will have many opportunities for networking with your peers and exhibitors, which really is the best part of any conference! In addition, you can expect several food and beverage enhancements that would normally not be available.
The Aging Life Care Association and Western Region are YOUR organization. We are in this together. Attending the conference demonstrates your support for our organization and our members. And now you have the choice on how to join us. If you have never attended one of our conferences before, this is the one to attend.
If we are able to meet our goal of 125 attendees (in-person or virtual), all attendees will receive a gift card. This is our way to encourage all of you to help with recruitment. Talk to your peers (both members and non-members). Make plans together. And register!
Early bird registration has been extended through Thursday, September 2nd so… be sure to register – in person or virtual – by 11:59 p.m. PDT that day to SAVE $75 on your registration fee.

We are looking forward to seeing you – in person or virtually – next month!
