This webinar will walk Aging Life Care Managers through the VA Aid and Attendance benefit.  Aging Life Care Professionals/Care Managers will take away a greater understanding of the benefit and how it can best be utilized to help their clients.

The goal for this webinar is that each participant will be able to successfully obtain the Aid and Attendance benefit for their clients.   Participants will be able to:

  • understand the VA lookback period
  • know who qualifies for the benefit
  • expedite an Application

Continuing Education Credit Hours

ALCA has been approved for 1 CE contact hour from CBRN, NACCM, and NYSED, and has applied for approval from NASW and CCMC.

Aging Life Care Association SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, #0166. This program approved for 1.0 contact hour.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 15884, for 1 Contact Hour.

Attendee must attend entire webinar to receive any CE certificates. Attendees requesting a CE Certificate for Social Work (NASW & NYSED) must successfully submit and pass a post-test prior to receiving CE certificate.

About the Presenters


Amy Cameron O’Rourke, MPH, NHA, CMC
 is founder and President of The Cameron Group: Aging Life Care Services located in Orlando, Florida. She founded the company in 1999.  Mrs. O’Rourke has 30 years of experience in health care, 23 specifically in the field of aging.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and a Master’s Certificate in Gerontology from the University of South Carolina.  She is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Certified Care Manager.


Wendy Deshommes
is the Director of the Benefits Department at The Cameron Group. She specializes in Florida Medicaid and the Aid and Attendance Benefit. Wendy is a graduate of the University of Central Florida.
