Due to the limited numbers of care managers in rural areas, many ALCA members find themselves being asked to provide services in rural areas. What should Aging Life Care Managers know about the challenges of practicing in a rural environment? How is "rural" defined? What are some of the unique social determinants that can effect care planning with clients? What knowledge about rural culture, diversity, and ethical issues should an Aging Life Care Manager be familiar with?
