We are the Western Region Chapter of the Aging Life Care Association™ (formerly National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers).
Is an older family member confused, driving unsafely, falling, not paying bills on time or dressing inappropriately? Are you losing sleep, taking time off work to deal with care giving issues, struggling to meet your family member’s needs? You need an Aging Life Care Professional™/care manager.
Aging Life Care Professionals can guide families through professional consultation/counseling, prioritizing needs, developing customized care plans, setting up services and referral to resources and making sure the plan is instituted and followed so as to have positive outcomes. These activities not only help the older person, but also provide much-needed solutions for the adult child or family who find themselves in a crisis on how to help their parents.
In lieu of a Chapter Conference this year, the ALCA Western Region Chapter is happy to be hosting an Advanced Practice Retreat in conjunction with ALCA’s 35th Annual Conference on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 at the Scottsdale McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ.
This all-day session will feature Arden O’Connor, founder of the O’Connor Professional Group who address the needs of families and individuals struggling with an array of behavioral health issues, including addiction, mental health disorders, eating disorders, learning, and other developmental challenges. Arden is passionate about helping families and individuals navigate the highly fragmented treatment system in a way that creates positive outcomes and allows families to heal.
This retreat is one-of-a-kind opportunity for advanced Western Region practitioners to meet and network with other Aging Life Care Professionals across the country. The format of this unique program is different from other ALCA programs—it offers a variety of informal, small-group discussions defined by the attendees and facilitated by ALCA members who are recognized as leaders in the business of Aging Life Care Management. This informally structured event will provide you with hours of networking and camaraderie–a perfect opportunity to spend time in uninterrupted discussions with those who are doing what you are doing. Learn from the successes and the mistakes of others – vent your ideas and share your experiences.
