All over the world, people over 60 are the fastest growing age group, and the number of older people who are no longer able to look after themselves is forecast to quadruple by 2050. This is especially true in the Southeastern states, where mild climate and lower costs of living bring many for their post-retirement years. As they lose their ability to live independently because of physical or mental changes, elders and their families need guidance navigating care needs and finding resources. This is what Aging Life Care Professionals™/geriatric care managers (GCMs) do best.
